About Us

Africa Deeply is a non-profit, independent organisation that holds power accountable. Founded in 2022, we investigate significant topics by conducting in-depth, truth-seeking journalism. We tell stories that bear significance and spur positive change.

Our objective: Journalism as a catalyst for change
We believe that investigative journalism is crucial to maintaining a strong democracy, holding those in authority accountable, and building more just societies. Thus we prioritise rigorous, in-depth investigations that have the potential to effect significant change on a local, national, or international scale.

Our focus extends beyond the immediate news agenda and the imperative to generate page views. We devote our time in conducting thorough investigations, guided by factual evidence rather than corporate or political agendas. We are not afraid of challenging narratives and strive to hear perspectives that are frequently disregarded.
Our driving force is to effect change. This entails that we collaborate directly with individuals who can help actualise our goals.

Our values
Justice:
We are committed to pursuing what is right. We act with integrity and fairness to bring injustice to light.

Honesty: We deal plainly and truthfully with each other and what we uncover. We reveal the truth even when it is uncomfortable.

Valour: We aim to break new ground. We are ambitious, tenacious and innovative.

Inclusivity: We seek to build equity. We embrace diversity, different experiences and perspectives.

Collective unity: We believe people are stronger when they work together. We take a collective approach to how we tackle problems, share skills and enable change.
